The Action Plan aims to accelerate the decarbonisation of buildings across the EU, supporting the transition towards a more sustainable, energy-efficient, and climate-neutral building stock.
A collaborative European effort
The Building Decarbonisation Partnership brings together a diverse coalition of public authorities and industry stakeholders across Europe. Notably, the initiative includes the active involvement of the City of Mechelen and the Spanish Green Building Council (GBC España), alongside other key partners. Their contribution highlights the importance of combining local expertise with broader European collaboration to develop actionable and scalable solutions.
Why this consultation matters
Buildings account for a significant share of Europe’s energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The Partnership aims to translate ambition into concrete actions by aligning stakeholders across the value chain.
