First Board of Directors

🧭 A milestone for the Belgian Green Building Council!

Today, we held our very first Board of Directors meeting — a key step in the journey of our young but fast-growing organization.

✅ The Board officially appointed Lesley Gregoire (ING) as Treasurer.

✅ We also validated the BGBC roadmap for 2025–2026.

This roadmap outlines our priorities for the coming months, including:
🔹 Facilitating the adoption of green building criteria by Belgian financial institutions, to support sustainable financing.
🔹 Support regional coordination around the new Energy Performance of Building Directive framework
🔹 Developing a harmonised methodology for assessing embodied carbon.
🔹 Defining objective criteria for climate-adaptive buildings.
🔹 Strengthening BGBC’s national visibility and integration within the European network.

These foundations will enable further work on topics like asset valuation, renovation financing models, circular business strategies, and benchmarking
