Your contribution is essential to ensure Belgium is well represented in European sustainability benchmarks.
BGBC encourages you to participate in the 2026 data collection of the OID Baromètre, one of the leading European benchmarks on the environmental performance of real estate assets and organisations.
What is the OID?
The Observatoire de l’Immobilier Durable (OID) is an independent French think tank dedicated to accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable built environment in France and Europe. It brings together real estate stakeholders to develop shared methodologies, indicators, and benchmarks on environmental and ESG performance.
One of its flagship initiatives is the OID Baromètre, an annual reference study that measures and compares the environmental performance of buildings and real estate organisations across Europe.
Why participate?
By contributing your data, you help:
- Benchmark your assets against Top 15% and Top 30% performers under the EU Taxonomy
- Improve transparency on energy, carbon, water, and waste performance
- Strengthen ESG reporting and investment positioning
- Enhance the overall reliability of European real estate sustainability data
Data from buildings outside France will primarily contribute to energy and carbon indicators, while French assets are assessed across a broader environmental scope.
Key dates
- Data collection period: 19 March – 31 July 2026
- Publication & conference (Paris): 3 December 2026
Who can participate?
Participation is open to any organisation (public or private), whether or not you are an OID or BGBC member.
Companies already reporting to GRESB can benefit from a pre-filled OID data collection file, simplifying the submission process.
Participants can also engage directly with the OID team for support during data completion.
BGBC added value
BGBC will complement this initiative with a dedicated Belgian analysis of the OID Baromètre results, enriched with:
- Academic research
- Market studies
- Complementary sustainability insights
This will provide a clear national perspective on how Belgian real estate performs in the European context.
