The Climate Positive Europe Alliance AISBL (CPEA) is an independent Think and Do Tank based in Brussels.
Our work follows a pan-European approach, building a bridge between policy and practice.
Our built environment vision is just as much about the environment as it is about economic viability and people.
Sustainable real estate as a catalyst for innovation and economic competitiveness in Europe 🌍
What a great event yesterday in Brussels at the Annual Summit of the CPEA network.
Following an inspiring keynote by Dr. Christine Lemaitre, we explored one of the most pressing challenges in Europe today: housing affordability. A thought-provoking discussion with Matthew Baldwin, Raphael Lehmann, and Emily B. pushed us to reflect on whether we are even asking the right questions when it comes to housing.
We also looked at how the industry is delivering a more sustainable built environment, with valuable insights shared by Valentin Wiesner, Céline Carré, Marion Charlier, and Christophe Sykes.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to articulating the business case for sustainable buildings and unlock more private capital for renovation through innovative financial products with Eduardo Brunet Alvarez de Sotomayor and Alexandra Hedesiu, the requirement of data to drive better decision-making with Ursula Hartenberger and the real value that sustainable buildings bring with Sisse Norman Canguilhem and Seema Issar.
A key takeaway: capacity building is essential across all stakeholders if we want to accelerate the transition.
Looking forward to continuing the conversation.
