Last week, the Belgian Green Building Council had the pleasure of presenting its mission during the “Ronde Tafel Verduurzamen (ver)bouwproces” at the Herman Teirlinck building in Brussels.
This roundtable brought together sector federations, civil servants from the Vlaamse overheid, and civil society actors to collectively explore how to make it easier for builders and renovators to integrate sustainability into their projects.
We were grateful for the opportunity to join the dialogue and share the vision behind the creation of BGBC. It was also inspiring to discover the many existing initiatives—including the Woningpas, a digital building passport that deserves to be replicated in Wallonia and Brussels. Many thanks to the Vlaamse overheid for the kind invitation and to all participants for the constructive exchange. We’re looking forward to continuing this dialogue—with our members, such as Embuild - The Belgian Construction Association and Febelfin, also regularly around the table—to help accelerate sustainable change in the built environment.
