At Hilti, sustainability is deeply embedded in our strategy. Our goal is simple: to make construction better. That’s why we aim to be the best partner for our customers, driving productivity, safety and sustainability. Sustainability at Hilti is built on three pillars: People, Environment and Society. These pillars are reflected in our Fleet Management offering, where we apply circular principles.
Driving progress through circular design
Safety is a top priority. Fleet Management gives customers access to innovative, high-quality tools, fully maintained and ready to use.
Hilti uses closed-loop recycling for its iconic red tool cases, now made with over 20% recycled material. The challenge is retrieving enough used cases. This is where Fleet Management comes in. At contract end, we collect tools, batteries and cases, returned by our customers. They are sent to our Tool Service Centre, where experts assess them for reuse. If reuse isn’t possible, materials are shredded, cleaned and carefully sorted. The recycled material is then used to produce new tool cases.
The same careful process applies to returned tools. We also partner with technical schools, providing reusable tools for training programmes, giving students hands-on experience with professional-grade tools. Doing more with less.
