Energy is at a turning point: ambition is high, but implementation remains complex. Governments and organisations are seeking solutions that go beyond simple energy optimisation.
C-energy acts as an enabler of the energy transition, delivering integrated and workable solutions.
The technology is already here - now is the time to scale up and move forward together.
Redefining energy
Our dream is to work with governments, port authorities and others to help them fulfil their essential role as pioneers and, ultimately, take the lead by implementing large-scale integrated energy solutions. We are seeing that companies and organisations are paying much more attention to optimising their energy bills yet the step towards implementation is actually a bigger one than anticipated. They are running into difficulties with licensing issues, revised budgets and various stakeholders, but it must be possible to ultimately arrive at a feasible, affordable and workable solution.
Enabler within the energy Transition
So, at C-energy (part of Cordeel Group), we see ourselves as enablers of the energy transition, taking the lead for our customers and assuming responsibility for design, construction and management. We also handle the financing, ensuring that the investment required of the user is kept to a minimum and that we can offer guarantees over longer terms of 15 to 30 years and this applies to our Heat & Energy as a Service solutions, ranging from district heating networks to solar energy, charging points, smart storage and smart control systems, naturally, so that we can offer an integrated energy solution.
Large-scale integrated energy solutions
Through C-energy, we are already active in the Benelux with our Heat & Energy as a Service at building level, city level, across multiple buildings and at neighbourhood level. Residential projects, for example, in Tongeren, Mol and Tienen as well as various office developments in Brussels and Antwerp, and industrial and port projects such as a major solar and storage project in the port of Antwerp, and at city level in Luxembourg with a large-scale district heating network. So, ultimately, we have already demonstrated that large-scale integrated energy solutions are both feasible and affordable.
Challenge in the tendering process
With public authorities, we see that the tendering process acts as a major obstacle. Tendering is still often done traditionally, with design, construction and management treated separately, limiting integrated models that include financing, even though external financing could free up additional budget to carry out more projects. We also see that various heating and energy plans are being drawn up, which is a positive development, but that these often remain on the drawing board and are not implemented.
Belgian Green Building Council’s roll to play?
The Belgian Green Building Council provides C-energy with a powerful platform to help shape the future of sustainable construction and to speak with one voice to public and private bodies. What we need now to take the next step is to work together. The technology is there, the ambition is there. Now we just need to go for it together.

Team Leader Sales I C-energy
C-energy is the energy transition partner within Cordeel Group, a core founding partner of the Belgian Green Building Council (BGBC). As an independent entity within the group, C-energy enables and accelerates the energy transition through off-balance electrification, valorisation of process and waste heat, and on-site power solutions combining PV, BESS and smart congestion management. Through integrated Energy-as-a-Service models, C-energy designs, finances and operates future-proof low-carbon energy systems for industry, real estate and infrastructure, helping organisations reduce emissions, increase resilience and gain greater control over their energy consumption and costs.
